I consider the messageboard a public record of conversation. I don't like the idea of any feature that lets people retroactively mess with that record, such as editing their posts, deleting threads or posts, etc.

I have an "edit post" feature simply becuase it is sometimes necessary to edit a thread for clarity, or to fix a URL or something.
