Daz, the drunk thread is thataway.
Currently Playing:
kotor2. so far so good, although parts of it are a bit more frustrating than the original, which i loved playing through immensely.
that matrix online game looks/seems pretty cool, from what i've read. may have to give that a go after kotor2. and maybe finish splinter cell. speaking of which, anyone tried sc: chaos theory?
Oh Sweet Jesus

I felt it in #tf, but now I'm 100% positive that DaZ has been possessed by the Daemonic soul of czg.
Hang in there DaZ, we will send these blasphemous Daemons back into the abyss from whence they crawled.
(P.S. - looking forward to your photoshoot in the latest issue of Chavs ^_~ )

I played up to level 5 (I think) before getting bored. It turns out that 'genuine military tactics like they done used in the war' consists of approaching every combat situation in exactly the same way, making for very repetitive gameplay.
The graphics I thought were way below par for a current PC game. Lots of nastily washed-out textures on some of the levels as well. The character models in particular are going to look a bit sucky to you if you've played HL2 on high quality settings. Sir Daz is dead right about the shitty invisible walls "I am a well trained fit and healthy soldier yet I cannot climb over a tiny pile of twigs which is blocking this gateway OH NOES."
The first-person squad control interface is also incredibly intrusive - it looks like some kind of half-assed Flash game has been superimposed on top of World War 2. Surely this could have been designed to blend in with the rest of the game's artwork more appropriately?
So I traded it in to buy the new Timesplitters.
So What's Pushplay Playing?

metl: that game has some pretty neat mechanics. Glad you pointed that out.
JP: you're talking about xmame I assume. If you google romnation you can download (if you legally own the game, heh) the roms for the rest of the 1940 series. Also look into Strikers 194*. If you ask I can always recommend more.
Meanhile a friend lent me Resident Evil 4 and I've been playing that. I tried RE2 (I think) a long time ago and I didn't really care for it. I started RE4 with low-expectations and when I started getting frustrated with the first chainsaw dude I almost have up. I got through it though and now I'm 20 hours in and can't put the damn thing down.
I'm also still playing poker. I'm up a bunch online and just won $100 at the casino today.
God Of War

I picked this up and expected it to be another Devil May Cry rip off... and it is, but it's a lot of fun.
The design is top quality. Everything, characters, levels, story and voice acting, attacks, everything in this game is top quality. TOP of the top. Like Kilamanjaro top. Or is it Everest? I forget, one of those is top of the top, just like the quality of this game.
Levels wind back on themselves, opening new areas and what not as you progress. I expected sort of linear levels that moved only forward, but the layout of each level is truly spectacular. I'm on level 4 right now, and I am very surprised by the design so far. Very spectacular.
For example, in level 3 you're scaling down the side of a mountain village around Athens, and wayyyyy in the distance is this huge Ares being attacked by a huge army, with all sorts of missiles flying around, and Ares is just shooting fireballs and picking people up and eating them. That's all background stuff, but occasionally you get a scripted sequence fireball that comes and destroys a building in your way or something. And as you scale down the mountain, dawn peaks and the lighting subtly changes, from early morning blues to pinks to reds to oranges to yellow at dawn... very very nice.
I must say, the game has kept my interest a lot more than Katamari Damacy, which is pretty good too, but God of War is just amazing so far. If you have a PS2 I would recommend it. 5 thumbs up.
Oh Yeah

In case you didn't know, they got lots of boobies in there too. Tons of em. Boobies everywhere. On women and monsters. Sexy booby monsters. Boobies and blood. Good stuff. 6 thumbs up.

I tried some days ago Red Faction II in deathmatch mode... and while it was quite funny to fight against bots (like in most deathmatch contest...), I was really disappointed how item looked ingame... Weapons, health and ammos are "disco" colored in transparent-like red, white, yellow, purple, etc... colors... It was not like in the SP game where you have real items... I was really surprised to see how ugly they look... *cough*

Maybe it's an exploit, but here's how you sneak the sniper rifle into the hotel, Traditions Of The Trade:
Before you approach the guard who checks your ID, drop the sniper case. Let him check it, pickup the sniper case. Turn sideways and strafe a bit up to the metal detector, do not pass through it! Drop the case. Go through the metal detector now. Once you're on the other side, pick up the sniper case. Enjoy!

Just finished: Painkiller: Battle Out Of Hell
After having to reinstall both games to get it to work. Quite good, a bit on the short and repetitive side, but some good maps and more interesting enemies this time. Just more Painkiller really.
Just started: Far Cry
A complete change of direction. So far, so good. Still looks great and plays interesting too.
Just installed: Vampire The Assquerade
A bit dark and gloomy for summer evenings but when the British summer rains start I might play it.
Just about to buy: D3: Erection of Evil
Well, yes.

vampire: the masquerade
something about the character you play just ruined it for me. maybe his piss poor jumping motions? the hokey combat & effects? I just felt so taken out of the game at times.
maybe I'll try to get back into it again...
d3: roe, I've stopped playing at the final boss. why I don't really know. Maybe it's me realizing I've seen all there is to offer by this point, why bother finishing it. If someone tells me it's actually worth playing through the final battle then maybe I'll pop that cd back in the tray.

It's WELL worth the 5 minutes to kill Betruger. The ending is amazing - I won't spoil it though.

Been playing Far Cry, guess I am 1/2way+ through it. Very cool stuff, reminds me more of Deus Ex + a bit of HL/2 in a novel setting, rather than a tediously realistic modern conflict sim. Thank fuck! Quite hard though, definitely rewards careful but tactically aggressive gameplay.
And I've just ordered Guild Wars because Zwiffle told me to. Need a fresh game to play in the bright summer evenings and want to try some online shit - hopefully I can get involved with the #fucn people who are playing it, w3rd.

I watched a guy play Killer 7 during lunch break at work. I only saw about 30 minutes of the game, but it looked pretty trippy, and very cool. I'm not sure if the gameplay is going to be top notch, but the setting combined with the theme seems to be right up my alley. I'm definitely looking to buy this one.
