Ok, so a friend of mine actually had these maps still on his drive. These are from 2002, and weren't released on func because I wasn't here then, and I'd deleted them from *my* hard-drive cause I either gaveup or didn't like them. So I'm posting these for nostalgia sake.
I guess that's a disclaimer - they weren't designed with too much of "what will they think" or even a well playing map. I made these all before I joined any community and were primarily for myself and bot DM. You can tell their build quality is I guess average... little hints of potential.. the best of these maps is PH8DM8 I think, I experimented shadows there...
There is also a single player attempt never finished.
Despite their average/crap quality there might be some decent or workable ideas inherent - so if such an idea strikes you, feel free to use it, I don't care. Also no, I don't have any source files. (Now if only I had my maps from the late 90's and earlier 00's)
So with that said, give 'em a gander:

Meh
I really would like to know where you get this idea from.
From every second post you make on this forum. From your website, where you interview yourself (WTF!?) and have a FAQ because really, everybody is so interested in whether you prefer photoshop or paint shop pro that they're asking you all the time. From lines like this little gem: I don't think Q1 justifies my capabilities honestly.
Work it out.
All of the above would probably be ok anyway if you'd ever actually done anything worth noting... but all you seem to do is tell us how fabulous you are and how you have so much potential, but you're just held back by restrictions x and y, and your own perfectionist attitude.
You start and stop new projects and hobbies constantly; just in the short time you've been posting here you've decided you were a mapper, a texture artist, a web designer, a concept artist, a sound/music guy, etc, but you never actually finish anything, you just give up before you even really get started.
If you can't make up your mind what you want to do, or you can't finish anything properly, that's fine... really, it is! Just don't tell us about it, because we really don't give a fuck unless you can actually produce something worth releasing!

Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but alot is on my site because I hate getting asked questions time after time which yes, I am asked in some webdesign communities. I don't interview myself, I just laid out a list of potential questions so I don't have to adress them anymore than once.
About Q1 not justifying my capabilities, it seems like everyone is misunderstanding that, or maybe it was how I said it. I felt that Q1 was limiting for me at the time and more of a hinderance having to work within a certain amount of r_speeds and brushes and blah blah.. well that's changed, seeing how much nicely detailed yet playable stuff has come out and what with PC specs out for awhile now.
"but all you seem to do is tell us how fabulous you are"
I don't feel that way. Potential yes, but not out-of-the-box-uber-whatever in any field. If that is how I've come off, that wasn't my intention, so I apologize. Yes, I am not afraid to apologize. I think that's a humble thing, hmm?

It depends what it is. Yes, drawing and mapping are 2 of the most frustrating things for me. I've been doing webdesign for over 3 years, I still do it, I haven't quit that. I still do music, but my interest in game music has faded in the meantime. I won't disagree with you because I *do* give up alot, and frankly I have gotten tired of it, which explains why I'm still designing, still creating music.
When I did PH8DM1 I took a better amount of time. I didn't want to rush it, and thus I was more patient and was able to finish it and be fairly content with it, but I knew it had it's flaws. It's a discipline for me to stop rushing out some work that I do and take - time. I can be rather impatient. So when I be cool about it, I'm much less hotheaded and frustrated, and it probably shows.
"Just don't tell us about it, because we really don't give a fuck unless you can actually produce something worth releasing!"
Good, fair enough point.

PH8DM8 is the right way.. why don't you go on in this way? If you combine DM7 and DM5 with this one your almost done!
I'm not a Deathmatchplayer, but the examples show you've got a start!

"When I did PH8DM1 I took a better amount of time."
dude you slapped that together pretty damn quick and neglected to beta test even with the offer on the table from other mappers. The result was a map that had potential but looked and played like a speedmap.

You're kidding, right? They're not that great. And I don't particularily have the motivation to map presently.

I think I supported you in this topic somewhere. I always try to give support, because mapping isn't easy, even if people think it is. So no, you shouldn't have released these, but go map anyway and make better maps. Good luck.
Damn You!
