Rename the .pk3 to .zip, open it, and extract the 6 skybox images.

Browse through the skies on my site. There's probably something that will fit your map theme. If grayscale misty mountains is what you want, I recommend Kradegar.
Alternatively, if you have more than a vague notion of what you want, I'll make it.
Oooh....

if, you umm, do so feel inclined... a darker dusk w/ partial clouds (almost brown instead of orange) would be hot stuff...

Ah, thx for linky.
By the looks of things, D3 handles skyboxes in almost exactly the same way as Q3 ( at least from my pov ). jpg doesn't work, but .tga does and the only other differences are the panel suffixes and the details of the shader. So technically speaking, any of the skies I've made should work in D3 if you rename the panels ( e.g. _forward instead of _ft it seems ) and c'n'ped a new shader.
If those guys in the thread are using Wadfather skies ( and good luck to them there btw ) then 512x512 must be an acceptable res.
I also see the number 768 mentioned. I've never checked this before, but presumably because skybox panels don't tile ingame, non-power-of-two dimensions are acceptable? If so, I can do 768 no problem. 1024x1024 I can't, unless I miraculously acquire a registered version of Terragen.
By 'a darker dusk', are you speaking generally or refering to my sky 'duske'. If the latter, that shouldn't be too difficult to work up.
For skybox requests, the odd googled pic or whatever can help describe. Though please note: I won't be making a new skybox for every motherfucking map project people begin - I map too y'know :P
Yeah, That's A Real Shame

Phait: Chrono Trigger is being remade in the UT2003 engine http://www.chrono-trigger.com - I'd play it, if it's ever finished. Currently playing the SNES version.
pushplay: All that effort and talent could have gone into something creative. It's depressing.
scampie: especially once Square/Enix gets wind of the project and sends a Cease and Desist.

PS: please don't ruin D3 for me by discussing the skybox format here.

...er... I mean, It's a shame I heard that news the other day and watched the trailer they made, looked some fucking good. Maybe they should start on a new, original RPG made in the same method now.
P.S.

i've forgotten what the PQ ftp details are for uploading files to hosted sites, can someone remind me please? The intranet site either doesn't have it, or hides it well due to terrible navigation.

Initial idea for my website splash page here:
http://kinn.spawnpoint.org
No content yet (except a download for Bastion), so none of the links work.
Bear in mind that I know next-to-bugger-all about the technical side of web design, so the code is probably "less than optimal".
What I'd like to know is: does it display properly in your browsers? What do you think of the basic concept? Does the name suck (256 Shades of Brown)? Bear in mind that the "Bastion" link will become a proper "Maps" link when I finalise it.

Yes, it works fine !! Weel, It's a pretty cool start page compared to mine 8P..... So, just an advice, IMHO the green use for link should be replaced by a another brown shade... to follow the web site title ;).. That's the same for purple links already visited... Otherwize, it's rather nice... I like this global "building top-level view"..
Just a question: what tool do you use to build your web page ??

Thanks for the crits. I kind of like the colourful mouseover and visited links, but I guess that's because there's only so much brown one can take ;)
Btw, I used Photoshop 7 to make the graphics and Dreamweaver 3 for the html shenanigans.
