So Cool

Actually I'm amazed that no-one has accidently mentioned the appearance of the Q1 monsters (well, fiend and shambler anyway) after the final boss is defeated.
Yes, that was really cool, made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Er?

Now here's another one: anyone know where I can find the Quake -> Unreal geometry converter? There is one, I've used it. It was very similar to what's described on this site, maybe even the same thing. The link is dead though.

And Here's Another One!

Has anyone converted the Doom episode 1 skybox (huge black round hills and mist) for use with a Quake custom engine? If not, anyone interested in doing just that?

Talking Of Skyboxes
#5304 posted by Kell on 2004/09/07 10:20:23
I've uploaded my Kothic Skybox Compilation to spawnpoint; 49 skyboxes, all panels 512x512 in .tga format; shader scripts included for Q3 engine games. 80Mb

I don't have time atm to compose individual skybox downloads. So if you want 'em, you gotta catch 'em all!

If you don't like Kell's skybox (gasp!) then I think Lun converted it for use in Lun3DM3.
Alright
#5306 posted by Tronyn on 2004/09/07 18:13:12
I think I'll look at both. Though I have tons of custom Q3 maps, I don't know much about Q3 editing so how would I extract it and convert it for use with a Q1 engine?
Though Kell's skybox looks great, the colour scheme may be too blue/greenish for the level I need said skybox for, as that map is very much grey/black/white.
Oh Yeah Nitin

Rename the .pk3 to .zip, open it, and extract the 6 skybox images.

Browse through the skies on my site. There's probably something that will fit your map theme. If grayscale misty mountains is what you want, I recommend Kradegar.
Alternatively, if you have more than a vague notion of what you want, I'll make it.
Oooh....

if, you umm, do so feel inclined... a darker dusk w/ partial clouds (almost brown instead of orange) would be hot stuff...
