Yeah
I hope we can get cable service here - and no ugly black coax running atop the sideboards either. The olds have come to like the idea of being able to hop on the internet whenever they please and still receive phone calls.
Have A Good One FC
Hope you have a smooth move man. GL on the internet business, perhaps not having it will give you an excuse to map a little while you're gone.

PHP Coder Required For Great Justice!
I know a few people here are savvy when it comes to php coding, and I am asking for your assistance with religion quake.

> whats religion quake u arsetard!?

its a Quake 1 review site I started working on years ago with paul & his brother that uses PHP. It covers Quake 1 dm & sp and perhaps mods too, unfortunately pauls brother is too busy to finish the php so im stuck :(

> Whats required for this RQ u fuquer!?

Well, basicly I want a php driven site where reviewers need to know 0% html as they can just stick reviews and pics onto the site using a form. Users can create accounts and post comments & user reviews of each map/modd reviewed on the site, and also give each map a rating out of 5. I was thinking of some sort of small forum style thing for it also, but Im not sure how useful that would be as func_qmap_msgboard_etc does a fine job atm.

> Where how and when u arseface?

The current URL is http://www.planetquake.com/religionquake/ . I have a basic site design done in html with all required graphics, but I was thinking about getting some better designer/art person to have a go at the site also.

> Ok, so sum it all up u flash git!

PHP coder needed, web graphic dude needed, will be paid in respect and evennings along with cardo in his trailer. If someone wants to help and php gets worked on, I may need reviewers as well (a few have already stepped forward ages ago, not sure if they are still interrested).

So, can anyone help?

Additional : I told RPG that me+Tronyn's map pack "TNJ" will be finished if RQ can get finished, so there is a little bit of inspiration there too =)

I think you would get bored of it pretty fast. That trailer features an unusually uninspired level. Cool metaphors can't make up for bad level design.
DaZ, You Cardwhallop!
GomJabbar already agreed to do the PHP code! And Von is doing the site design!

But if you want Flash whiznuts, you'll have to talk to ELEK.
Burger Wars
I have to agree with pushplay; the level design doesn't look very interesting. Plus all the characters seem to have the same animations, although that may be because it's shot from the beta. Gameplay doesn't look particularly interesting either, but videos usually don't capture the essence of the gameplay very well.

I quite like the cartoon style of that and similar games, but that's not enough to get me to look past the other problems the game seems to have.
Seriously...
do we get a night w/ cardo?
Blroghthhgeh
Von's doing the design, that's cool. I'd of offered elsewise. But Von will do skimpy-good-looking site and thats better.
Maybe You Could Form A Tag Team
von does general design, Phait does logos and submission moves, or something
Yeah...
...because we all know team efforts get things done a lot quicker and more efficiently...
Define Submission Moves
Sorry, I don't do under-the-desk work.

Now if you meant submission movies a'la gameplay demos recorded... erm. Me?
Wow
really? Well maybe it would have been a good idea to tell me? :D

I have a file with all the shit I would like, whats Goms e-mail address?

If your pulling my leg then I delete tnj right now =)
Shambler
then why didnt you join my mod team? it's got 150+ weapons
LMAO!

GOLD
And I quote from Todd H's .plan...

IT'S DONE!!!!!!!

Yes, this is the official word that DOOM 3 has been code released and has been approved for manufacturing! It won't be long now until the anticipation ends and the PH34R begins ;-) We literally just hung up with Activision and have confirmed that our latest release candidate has been mutually approved and is finally GOLD. Thanks to everyone for their patience (yeah right! =) and for everyone at id, Activision and our numerous partners for helping us create what I believe is absolutely the best game we have ever made.

So, the next question is release dates. Retailers in the States will be allowed to pick up games starting at 12:01 AM on August 3rd. The official street date is actually August 5th in the U.S.A., but some of your favorite stores will probably have it early for those of you who have to have it first. Check with your local retailer for that information.

Internationally, the game will take a few more days to make it to the store shelves. The UK will probably get it first, on or about August 6th. Everywhere else will probably be Friday, August 13th (que Twilight Zone Theme) or close to that date, with just a few exceptions (e.g. Russia and Poland). This isn't because we don't have love for you folks outside the U.S., but the localization and manufacturing process takes a bit longer outside the U.S. where we will have JVC run 24/7 to get the units built. I guess the European manufacturers prefer to give their employees nights and weekends off. Go figure!

The champagne is flowing here at id and smiles abound!

I'll update again with some DOOM 3 preparation tips (not what hardware to buy - you'll have to wait for a programmer for that sort of thing). In the meantime, I want to see those "DOOM 3 GOLD!!!" threads set new records for swamping message board servers, destroying productivity, and post counts ;-)

Recapping today's headlines....DOOM 3 GOLD!!!

This isn't being submitted as news Scampie, so chill. It's just exciting stuff!
Doom III, Etc...
I've seen a DoomIII demo presented in a DVD that micromania sent me last week. The DVD is a presentation of many brand new games presented to the Holywood E3 forum (last 12-14 may)... So it seems that Doom III will be very dark, and very terrific, like an horror film, with many thrills and suspense... all is based on the ambiance !!! While looking the demo, it remind me "Alien - the 8th passenger"... with much more monsters !! .. and yes, the game will be released in august of this year !!! Don't miss it, it will be great...

BTW, HalfLife 2 and Halo 2 seems also to be very cool as well...

Vodka ??
Is double post due to Parkinson sick or abusive drink of Vodka ?? It seems to be your favourite drink isn't it ??
Just One Thing More...
... The DVD presented a real demo of Halo 2 in its different modes (DM, CTF, SP, etc..), and it was a real gameplay, with a real player, a real X-Box console, and so, it was a real video I've seen... And IMHO, it was really good compared to first Halo (more weapons possibilities, more gameplay, etc..), and sure the game will be very good when released...
I Am Going To Kill Everyone.
The house move started four hours early (that's when the movers arrived - 8am - we were only just getting up - dammit!), we're still unpacking and sorting out our crap, and the phone connection still hasn't been worked out. Gleetings from uni.

When I get the time over the weekend, I'll busy myself with Bookshelf mapping and Arcane coding for Quake, and practicing UnrealEd for a starter project I have in mind which could offer good pickings for SP, Assault, Domination and CTF.

Anyway, there's this siren song wafting from Eastside, so I'll drink^H^H^Hown it out now. Tuesday, y'all.
Yeah On That Subject
i'll be back in a week, off for another short holiday :)
bye
