So...
When and where are you guys playing this Q2 coop? If you don't mind, I'd like to hop on and check it out a bit. You guys use any voicecomm software?
Teamspeak
That's not a bad idea.
Reply: Re: Re: More Responses
NotoriousRay: Yes, that's what I finally used. ZQuakeWorld server doesn't have the problem to begin with, though, so it would be cool if nb's server could have that feature.

H-Hour: We have been playing late afternoon EST (late evening GMT). Usually it works like this:

<than> RPG, wanna coop?
<RPG> Sure, dude. When?
<than> 2 hours.
<RPG> K. Slap me when you're ready.

Then in two hours we play, and if someone else is around and wants to join in, they do. So if you come in #Terrafusion on irc.gamesnet.net in late afternoon EST (late evening GMT) you can probably get in on a game if there's one going. Usually I host it (east coast USA, cable modem). If there's not an active game, you can probably find a few peeps to play with.

As for voicecomm, we have not been using it. I don't really feel the need for it, but it could be cool. Would be fun to try it, whether or not we use it regularly.
RPG
Thanks for the info. I will try and stop in in the next day or so and catch you guys. If you'd like to use TeamSpeak, I know a server that allows public players to jump on and play.
Hope Everyone Had A Good Christmas!
..Surrounded by friends and family.

Myself, I'm back from a long day of visiting relatives and am now kicking back in a comfy new pair of pajamas. :D

Merry Christmas asshole. ;)
Speedmap Second Editions
scampie: Has a date been decided on as a deadline for SM second edition maps? If so, what is it?

ask in the speedmapping thread and I'll answer you.
Answer in the General Abuse thread and I'll read your response.

RPG: I don't really give a damn if you read my answer.
scampie, if I don't read your answer, what shall I do? Where shall I go?
Screwing The Christmass Tree Editor
I'll never general thread speed mappings abuse
Evidently, Wealth != Brains
I just got 1577 (I counted) spam emails touting "Rich Guy" magazine. Through an email account I thought I'd closed down.

This makes me a little furious.

Anyone else get this?
Branching Out?
Has anyone recently been playing with other engines besides Quake and Cube? I know everyone thinks every other game isn't worth mapping for, but has anyone been playing around with say Unreal2k3 or any of the Lithtech based games? I'm going to be releasing XL1DM7 here very soon and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for what to tackle next. I got the Alien Quadwhatever for Christmas so I was thinking of taking another crack at AVP2 stuff. Either that or try some Call of Duty mapping in Radient to get ready for Doom III. Any ideas? I think it would be nice to see some of the talent here to start working with other engines. Face it Quake is aging, and yes you can download newer engines, but still there is only so much you can accomplish with it. I know Tig has been playing with Tenebrae 2.0 with his Industri, but what else is going on?
CoD
I would love to see a CoD map from you, also a Dungeon Siege one.
Error: Readlevel Function Pointers Have Moved
This is the error that i get while trying to load a saved game with Quake2.
Does this error something to do with the fact that im using WindowsXP?
If that is the case, how could i fix this problem?
If not, what's the problem then?
I wanted a night of Quake2 and massive caffeine but it won't be possible, damnit!
Jaj:
maybe you created those savegames with an older version of q2?
This Is A Known Q2 Problem
Check out http://www.forumplanet.com/planetquake/topic.asp?fid=2425&tid=936398 .

You could also try a Google search of function pointers have moved.

Basically, you need to patch or replace the game DLLs that Q2 uses. Depending on OS, they are loaded at different virtual addresses which cause them to malfunction.
Another Link At TenFour
Hmm
proj, you realise that you can play with the D3 editor in the leak right (although if you have a NVidia card you'll need to downgrade your drivers to get it to work).

As for other games, Unreal tech is good for brushing up your max/maya skills, or RTCW or CoD for learning scripting in your levels (I'd suggest RTCW over CoD, but that's cos I dislike MoH games).
Prod
If you haven't noticed, there have been a few Q3 map released. I'm considering mapping for RtCW or DN:MP, but there are other maps that need to be finished first.
Thanks Guys
Metlslime:They weren't old saved games, while i was playing i was saving and when tried to load, i got that error.
I was playing the "Ground Zero" mission pack when this happened, then i played normal Quake2 and it happened the same thing.

I've never had this problem before, it's happened just now when i've tried on WindowsXp.

Aguirre:Thanks, i'm going to try something i've seen in one of those links, i'll reinstall the 3.20 version after all the rest is installed previously.

Anyway, is out there a gamex86.dll that be prepared for wichever windows you're using?
Yoyo
hope everyone had a good christmas, and have a good new year too! :D
Nah
It didn't work. I'm tempted to take a look at the source code... only tempted XD hehe...

Ah, and happy new year to everyone!! =)
