Very big, looks good for TDM or large FFA's, tech-organic theme.
Nice Map

I never had any problems with bots dieing while trying to get the railgun, as mentioned in that thread, (I got nailed, or is that railed, quite a few times by the bots). The only bot problem I see, is that they don't go for/get all items. But hey.......

Good:
Interesting theme.
Kinda nice sky.
Architecture shows promise.
Scale and design although unusual, works reasonably well.
Gameplay is pretty good and a bit different.
Red armour bit was fun, telefragging monsters.
Bad - needs fixing:
Bugs: Various items suspended in the wrong place. Loads of gaps and seams in the architecture. Caves are not opened by keys (locked doors are).
Lighting is dodgy. The bright bits work outdoors but the dark bits are too dark and the internal lighting is unsourced and too bright.
Grunts don't go with medieval monsters unless you have a really 1337 theme and story.
Liquid texture blows goat ass and looks like slime.
Quake guy poster sucks and detracts from theme.
Rocks a bit boring.
Architecture needs some more detailing, small or large, preferably something to give it a stronger theme and sense of place.
Item balance is wacky. Starts harder and then gets easier - should be other way around.
Scale could be better used - maybe put something in it, whether it's monsters, items, architecture or other stuff. Larger areas can get a bit purposeless if they are just space.
Ummm yeah and stop fucking up Metl's news submissions :P.

The map is sealed with a big box ( always bad) and when reading what editor that has been used, I understand why.
If you want to map for Q1, I suggest that you stay away from Qoole. It's an extremely bad editor and will cause you major grief.
Better editors are BSP, WorldCraft or QuArK. You can even use non-Q1 editors like Hammer or GtkRadiant, but then you'll need conversion tools as well.
Also, if you want your minlight to work, you'll have to switch compile tools. Take a look at http://user.tninet.se/~xir870k and http://www.planetquake.com/tyrann .

If you can't even use a simple forum properly why are we trusting you to make maps?!

It's not what you use but how you use it.
I've read comments on one or 2 of Here's maps that were good - I think that accounts for something.

Qoole is the worst and shittest piece of software ever released by far, even worse than windows.
"It's not what you use but how you use it".
This maybe true in the bedroom, but for map editors it is not, again : Qoole is the utter bollocks of the universe, I would rather pose nude for loads of french weirds to draw me (on their fucking wacoms!) than use that editor.
...Ahem, but of course if he likes causing himself immense pain by using it then by all means carry on :)

Someone please post the link to worldcraft 1.6 so Here can try it out, I would do it myself but I lost the link :/
Here : Give it a go, worldcraft is so much better and you'll be able to create much better stuff with it.

Better Still
#1662 posted by Abyss on 2003/08/08 18:02:24
Use GTK Radiant, it's head and shoulders above the rest IMO, a little bit of messing around to set it up, but nothing to painfull, and once your up and running, you'll never turn back :)

yes yes, very true! i love gtkr
qoole sucks because it makes tons of problems that are easily avoidable in newer editors with better tools and stuff. for instance, it's easy to make brushes that are not convex and have the qbsp compiler kick you in the balls. new programs like gtkradiant will either flat out not let you shape the concave brush or else delete it later.
.
#1664 posted by pushplay on 2003/08/08 21:23:54
I've never seen a convex brush in gtkradiant, although I did once get a brush only defined by three points.
