Quake 2 Weapon Model-Animation
Hi everyone, I apologize for bothering you but I cannot find an answer to my problem anywhere.

I successfully followed this tutorial for player models (w_models) http://tastyspleen.net/~panjoo/q2modeler_tutor/index.html but it didn't work for me when I tried to make my own first-person models (v_models), items, and other models in general, the game just ignore the new models completly, no error is displayed in console. I'm using the Q2PRO client, Milkshape 3D for modeling, and Q2 for exporting to M2D and for everything else the tutorial say.


What can I do?
 
what happens if you simply rename the original models and name the new ones the same as the original? Do they also disappear? 
 
What I am doing is exporting my “flipbook” model/animation to an MD2 file from Quake 2 Model Editor and replacing the original “tris.md2” file.

For the railgun

baseq2 --> models --> weapons --> v_rail, the program asks me if I want to replace the file, then asks me for a .pcx file. I use the same one as the original model. I don't know how to create textures yet, and it worked fine for me using the original skin for the world models.
