Colony 3: Demon Keep (Q1SP)
A new map has just been added to Quaddicted that AFAIK hasn't been posted on any news channels yet.

Some of you with a good memory of classic 90s Quake custom maps may recall a two-part series "Colony" and "Colony 2: The Culling Station", by Mark Turner. Well, 27 years later, he has returned with the next map in the series (his words: "I got side-tracked, I guess")

The map follows a classic episode 1 medieval theme (think E1M2-E1M3) and can be downloaded from here: https://www.quaddicted.com/db/v1/maps/a25043c2b6c1c73b24e4a00c63d95a8a9e08943d8b8e39d7c4571ae3a1899d99

If you wanted to check out the previous two maps in the series you can find them here: https://www.quaddicted.com/db/v1/?include=metadata-%3Etags.cs.%5B%22author%3DMark+Turner%22%5D

I don't think I've played either of the original Colony maps. Guess I'll be doing a 3-parter tonight.
Also….
this means that quaddicted is back!
I Don't Know If It'll Reach Him, But Played And Demoed.

I remember the original colony being a mod with tough custom enemies. Maybe I mistook it for some other map.
I won't write much at all.
I really liked the slope where you had to jump from rock to rock, with lava all around.
I was a little disappointed that the map was assembled without transparent water and in one place a grey background was visible.

I went through Mark's previous maps and I see that the new map (although not much) is different in quality. There is a little regret that he is side-tracked. I think if this hadn't happened, we would have had another good mapper
