Hi there! I have made a step by step user guide on how to install Quakespasm and play original Quake. I hope those instructions may be helpful for newbies. As a result, you will get working copy of Quake that:
- Supports ultra wide screens resolutions;
- has fixed lighting and texture problems of GL version;
- autosaves game options on exit;
- supports a cd music;
- supports a mouse wheel to switch a weapon;
- supports a FOV (field of view) parameter which is essential for a widescreen;
- supports mods;
- supports fog, skyboxes and vertical synchronization.
