...let it be noted that I personally am not likely to respond to a release claiming to exhibit graphical improvements to a game, with NO SCREENSHOTS!!

Some screenshots really would be nice. I don't even see any on the home page. Odd.

Pointless installer that doesn't allow you to choose a non-default Quake 2 folder (tries to tell me that any other folders are corrupted).
Crashes on start-up with an error that the website says is due to 'lack of SDL support' on my computer. Funny how the SDL build of darkplaces and various other games run fine. Luckily they provide a patch which you install as follows: "Rename iwm_nosdl.exe to iwm.exe and rename the iwmcgame_sdl to iwmcgamex86.dll (and move the cgame to baseq2), replace old ones." (sic).
Ridiculous variety of 'weapons' that nevertheless give you a profound sense of deja-vu. Oh wait, that would be from the 10000 other mods which are based around the exact same concept of "let's code a new weapon for every crack rock we smoke this year!". Actually, I've probably seen more of these mods for Quake than for Q2, so I suppose I should give them the benefit of the doubt. What I can't get over is the number of missed opportunities and apparent lack of giving a shit. If your going to make 5 different guns that fire types of balls at least give them some distinguishing features, like making the beach balls actually float. You know, so they don't behave exactly like very other projectile. And if your going to bother packaging a custom engine, at least make some new eye candy to look instead of recycling EGL's particle effects.
Whatever, its not like my bitching is going to make any difference because I'm sure it will end being as popular as Runequake for example, and the other stupid crap that fills most Q3 servers.
