I Really Enjoyed Watching It Too

Especially since I love this kind of music, but also because I had forgotten how much cool machinery there was in D3.

It's a 166 MB AVI file you're getting here folks, it ain't a mod or somehting you watch unfold in the game.
And it's only 4 minutes.

It's just cut-together recordings of all the scripted pistons and machines in doom3 set to some kind of noisy junkyard of sounds that's supposed to pass as music.
Totally pointless.
Hm...

Cool machinery. But it's too bad it doesn't really have anything to do with the music. I thought this was going to actually be machines scripted to make music, which would have been much cooler.

The concept was to synchronize the movements of various machines from the game with the sounds they make to a rhythmic flow of imagery and music
Well why not actually do that, then??
It Was Neat-o

The music wasn't really all that impressive, I felt it could've taken more of a place in the film -- but I liked the cutting of the clips and all, and felt it was a neat subject for a short film.

it's some nice piece of industrial machinima, though the sound quality was rather poor, but that's understandable. i liked this video general idea.
industrial is always welcomed here ;)

Me? Invent a new sub-genre? I only do that when it involves genitalia.
But seriously, that's not my idea. I used to have a .mov or something that did something very similar. There was a machine that dropped balls into a Rube Goldbergian machine, and the balls would bounce off of various pipes, buttons, and other gadgets that would make various sounds. It all jived together into something that was quite clearly music. But I eventually deleted it becuase it was taking up space and I didn't really like the music.

I just hate people who try out new things that havent been done yet. ALways trying to expand the tried/tested/and true... those BASTARDS.
now if you'll excuse me I have to go listen to an album of contact microphones attached to various laptops and routers.
