It crashes for me after going through the door behind the rock in the labyrinth or whereever the hell it was. Which is REALLY sad because I'd really like to finish this game.
Gmax

for those people who have used gmax, would it be useful for creating doom3 map content such as terrain or is it more centered around character modelling?

Well, I'm pretty sure WC 1.6 is more suited to finishing TronDM3.

Quaddicted File Archive
#8623 posted by Spirit on 2005/08/26 09:24:31
I totally forgot about announcing it. I reworked my file archive, so you can upload maps now (and you can work on existing entries, just ask for account upgrading). I would really like you to use the upload function, every new singleplayer map released should be there. This does not mean that I ask you to switch to Quaddicted as your host (haha!), no. Just upload the files on your own space as usual. Then go to Quaddicted and "transfer" the file. Quaddicted will download the file from your host then and add it to the file archive. You are welcome to use it as host for your maps of course! If you can't find a place to upload your map or only a temporary, just go for it!

I'd hug you for contributing :)

I Am Going To Die

Here, in Wisconsin. Of starvation, to be specific.
They say the cost of living here is nice and low, but apparently 'they' have never been to Chin's, where they charge you eight dollars for a 'chicken stir fry' meal that consists of a lot of vegetables and enough little dry pieces of ambiguous chicken meat that you could probably almost cover the surface of a quarter, or any number of other establishments around here that expect you to pay through the nose for the same flavorless lack of meat, namely all of them.
Plus all the tables have a gross of chopsticks in the little centerpiece thing but the rice they serve with the meal isn't the sticky clumping kind. What the fuck.

Yes, Wisconsin sucks. You should move to Seattle. That's where I'm gonna go, we can be roommates or somesuch. I dunno wtf Chin's is, but it sounds like they're ripping you off. Go to Wong's Wok ffs and get some cheap ass orange-sweet-n-sour chicken shit. Mmmm, that sounds good.

The Q1SP file archive is a great idea, but I'd suggest improving browsing to at least include a simple alphabet selection (initial letter).
Browsing through 800+ files 20 at a time is a bit hard ...
Actually...

Having lived on both coasts and a shitload of places in between, I like Wisconsin quite a lot; it has that whole homey midwestern thing going on.
But yeah, it's not a place with a whole hellava lot of really interesting ethnic/non-American cuisine.
I've heard this place is really good, but haven't gone yet... http://www.bandungrestaurant.com/

I don't have anything against Madison other than it being so far from the west coast, and the people I know here. And the climate.
#8636 posted by Zwiffle on 2005/08/26 20:52:37
I've been to Madison only twice, but the UWMadison campus is sexy. Way better than UWMilwaukee, although UWMilwaukee is right by the lakefront which is beautiful in summer. Still, Wisconsin sucks.

Yeah, you're right. My main intention was that people would just use the file search, but that was a quite stupid intention I didn't really think about. Unfortunately the archive is just a script I downloaded and "installed", so adding such alphabetical list on a good way will be quite hard. Of course I could just do it by hand, but naaaahh.... I'll talk to the developers, I think that's the smoothest way, heh :D
I will split up the archive into "recommended files", "crap", and other categories somewhen. This will make browsing a bit easier already. But I'd like to do this in a "good" way, ie having that large list as well and those categories only as "gimmicks".
What really pisses me off about the archive, is that all the original filedates are gone. I'm sure this is some stupid windows feature or something... I burned the files on CDs and woooosh the dates were gone :(
:)
#8638 posted by inertia on 2005/08/27 01:11:24
file dating is a bit antiquated... how can you date photons?
