is one model.
But as ID still own the copyright they can still do closed source engine mods for paying customers (not that they will for Q3A by now, but...).

Whether one likes remakes or not, you have to agree they're going about in the right direction actually utilizing the D3 engine for what it's worth, unlike other remakes.

Hello, 3d cards and alpha blending have been here since 1997 or something, I think we've seen it by now!
More On Fixing My Old PC

Well, I think the cause for random lockups has now been properly identified: it was the CPU overheating. I underclocked it from 1400 Mhz to 1050 by dropping the bus speed to 100. The idle temperature has dropped from 65c to 57c and I was now able to play Doom 3 without it locking up the machine on me. I guess I will have to look into some new proper cooling...
By the way, whilst Doom 3 did run, it looked like shit (something similar to those Doom3-on-VooDoo2 screenshots you might've seen around). Are there any known problems with the latest NVIDIA ForceWare 77.77 drivers, GF4 Ti4200 cards and Doom 3? I recall Doom 3 looking way better before (even tho it did lock up every 30 seconds or so).
 Oh

In case mY mail did not get through to you, thanks for the Qexpo contribution you made with the player model pack. Now, with a change of a few lines of code, any mapper can have several versions of Axeman in his level!

Yeah, I did kinda think that after I'd made a few of 'em. The cawdor in particular seemed a likely candidate, with the noose and everything it would be very apt as an "executioner". One of the interesting things is that, although they'll work straight off as axemen, with a few seconds of work I could make much better models for the job. The way the models start out in the editor, the axe follows the hand throughout all the animations. It's then hidden from view in the final stage of conversion. So adding multiple death animations with the axe in hand would be an easy addition. If somebody was interested in using the models for this purpose, let me know and I'll release axemanic versions of the models you want.

I got your email. I could use a few more monster types in my Shrine map. I may need to customize the textures to fit the theme, but new axemen would certainly be welcome.
BTW, where was Axeman first used? The Requiem episode, maybe?
 Anyone Having Internet Problems?

A lot of sites are loading very slowly, including this one, but my bandwidth is fine, and other sites load quickly.
Someone mentioned that there is a virus going around shitting things up, but I can't find any substantial stories.

I'm thinking 2000 MB, 125 GB bandwidth ($100/year) or 3000 MB, 250 GB bandwidth ($200/year) should do well enough for hosting. I am really enjoying the idea - NO FILEPLANET!
 I Like Quaked.com

Your download layout needs some help, it's quite uncategorized - just filenames :|
