Pretty damn cool (sauerbraten). I hadn't looked at it before, but the engine is obviously improved and much prettier (e.g. lighting) than cube.
A.I. seems to have a lot of issues though? Monsters spend almost all their time humping the walls. I cleared a few levels with just fists and the monsters mostly ignored me, although I'd get attacked on rare occasions. I assume it's a work in progress, and this will eventually be sorted? Also, sparklies (t-junction errors? Dunno...) seem much worse. I didn't notice them too much in cube, but see them much more now--is this related to the new lighting touches, or...?
One odd thing--I'm unable to bind R to "right" in the config, it just refuses to take. I have to set it in the console during the game and then all is well. Weird...
Some of the levels are really cool and ambitious, and I'll be keeping an eye on this in the future.

I think they were there in early versions but the problem was then fixed.

maps.quakeworld.nu is the site you mean. since quakeworld.nu is entirely down at the moment, the maps domain doesn't work. are you looking for a particular file?

Previously known as sweetkittens.wmv, and possibly the best thing I've ever seen online =).

somewhere in another thread you mentioned a Dbmod? I don't recall seeing any links to the site.

Hrm, I don't remember - do you mean DragonBall? Or something else?

Or Maybe Mod Depot?

I tried to track down the post but I can't find it. I wanted to ask you about it at the time but I was a few hundred miles from anywhere surfing the net on a somebody's cellphone.
BTW, some nice pics there on your single player project.

People really need to start making maps for this and using the stuff in it. I've been replaying it recently and as well as it being a damn good pack in general with cool maps and ass-pounding gameplay, the addons are actually really bloody good and it's a shame they're neglected.
Things that are cool in rough order of coolness:
Horn of Summoning
Thunder Hammer
Rotations
Gremlins
Scorpions
Exploding stuff
Laser gun
Floating mines (if used well)
Prox grenades and the shield are kinda meh.
Dooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeet. W3rd.

If you haven't already played it, there's the old Death's Dominion pak (ddep2 & lethargy) that uses SoA elements.

they aren't that hard to get hold of via other means. Many other func ppl have the packs, and they are only about 20mb zipped.
This is illegal of course, but nobody has complained about mappers packaging the progs and resources from the packs in their own levels...
yet.

Warez it. I can almost guarantee you will not be able to find it in stores anymore - I've looked. You can probably find it online somewhere to download, that's how I got Quake after I had to reformat my Hard Drive. After all this time the shit should be free anyway.
