Don't know, of course it could just be a complete over reaction on the part of the journalist, and may well be quite tame to the seasoned gamer/psychopath
 Evil Is Back !

.. it took the horror of Doom a step further, with a grisly sequence showing the mutilation of characters in the game.
This sentence sounds good ! BTW ...fuck the protesters... ;)

I can see the protesters already, and hear the cries, 'Quake made them do it' :(
Yeah, Quake made those teenage boys kidnap one of their friends, strap him down to a desk, hack open his body with a circular saw, and attempt to graft on random bits of metal to his corpse!! The link is irrefutable!
P.S. Okay, that sort of behaviour was part of Q2 (Factory), but a very small part...
P.P.S. I wish to fuckery that people (the BBC in this case, not you) would stop saying this is "Quake" being reborn, it's not, that's fucking bullshit, it is Quake2 FFS it's not hard to see the difference, tards.
 Html Standards Guide?

Ok, I know of the w3c and their website, but I need an offline version of all the standards information (regarding each tag, attribute etc.)
Sounds a bit weird, I know.
Does anyone know where I could get such a thing (and not a book - since I'd have to pay for that!)

pretty sure W3C has an entire page with their documents you can just save, but it's been awhile since I've been there.

Von: ta, but torrent is blocked here. Any chance you could do me a secret upload location and send a link to andrew.palmer@rebellion.co.uk by Friday? ;) No problem if you can't.
Phait: I'll have another look.

Objective Reporting At Its Finest By The BBC

The explicit nature of the scene was unsettling and bordering on the tasteless.
Thanks for the judgement call, mate.
"Hey guys I went to check out this first person shooter and you'll never believe this...but it was excessively violent. I am shocked and appalled."
 Violence
#7825 posted by bambuz on 2005/05/26 03:53:07
but with new technology the violance becomes all the more graphical and realistic. I don't like the trend.
 Violence
#7826 posted by Shambler on 2005/05/26 06:35:45
My view is that it's value is proportional to how well it fits into both the style and gameplay of the game. D3's violence was appropriate because of the demonic horror nature. Painkiller's violence was appropriate because of the OTT nature of the gameplay. Other games perhaps less so...
Quake4 can justify some violence in terms of processing humans and of course the natural "shooting things" violence of an FPS. But it shouldn't be based around that. Of course a report such as the one quoted means shit really.

I wrote something about that on my website. Basically it was no longer fun for me, and it wastes way too much time. scampie kickbanned me last time I popped in to see how everyone was doing, and quite frankly I haven't had the desire to see if I've been unbanned.
#7831 posted by - on 2005/05/26 17:06:59
I kickbanned you because you were being a drunk idiot.
#7832 posted by R.P.G. on 2005/05/26 18:21:48
Considering that at that point I was neither drunk nor acting differently from anyone else, that's a pretty poor excuse.
