Penetrator
The first thing I made levels for was a Scramble clone on the ZX Spectrum called Penetrator (lol penetrator). It was the first game I came across (lol came across) with a built-in editor.

Penetrator was by Melbourne House, who obviously really liked the idea of people being able to make their own stuff because they later made a thing called H.U.R.G. which was basically a set of game templates for which you could design your own graphics and modify enemy behaviours etc. It was quite limited but still fun to mess about with.
Across
I have made some levels for Across. It's a motorbike simulation game with big fun factor. The editor in shareware version was limited and you could use only small number of polygons and vertexes. I have created some crazy maps with it. Here is a picture: http://republika.pl/quake_1/across.jpg
I Remember That Game
I think it had a different title though. Was kinda fun.
Phait..
You probably played the sequel, called Elastomania, or you played the original, which was actually called Action Supercross(across is an abbreviation of this).
Phait
If you mean Across then the official title was Action Supercross. There was also a newer version called Elastomania but I didn't like it so much like the old one.
My First Experience In Creating Custom Game Content
I made custom dungeons for Advanced Heroquest (the boardgame, lol) - I can trace my penchant for medieval/gothic back to those days. As for computer games, Quake was the first.
I Mapped For Mr.Robot On C64.

Did I win or, has PJW me still bested?
Fric
I did that too. Mr. Robot was the shit when I was like 4 or 5.
Heh.
Lots of mappage for old games. Cool.

I know I've pimped the earlier version of this game in here before, but the demo for the new Trackmania Sunrise is out,

Screenies:

Download:

and I'm having lots of fun mapping for it.

There are already over 1000 user-made tracks for download (yes, for the demo), and some of them are quite brilliant. So if you have the urge to make something in a few hours rather than a few days or a few weeks, I suggest trying it out.

There's also a copper-cheat available to get more build money than you would normally be able to get in the demo--can't remember where I got it, but poke around and you should find it.
Moldy Oldies
I did the Lode Runner scene and hacked both Ultima III and Wizardy on an Apple IIe, but
has anyone else ever made boards for Video Pinball on a TRS-80 Color Computer?
Mapping Fantasies
I've always wanted to do mapping for a super-crazy fantasy racing game like Mario Kart. Or for a GTA-style game with immense amount of scripting possibilities. That seems like it would be fun.
Are There Map Editors For
the original lemmings? i'd love to be able to make lemmings maps...
Early Mapping...
I hacked the data file for this game:

http://www.abandonia.com/games/226/Castle

And made some new rooms with it. Then something happened and i lost it all... always make backups, i learned!
Old Mappage
i used to map for warcraft2, starcraft, lode runner (!) and sothething else i don't remember now cause i'm drunk.
Abandonia!
That's a great site.
Yep
Elastomania. Remember playing it while "talking" to my friend on the phone not even pay attention to her.
An Absolutely Senseless, Dumb List
But I'll make it anyway. I tend to visualize the people behind the post in terms of the rock musician they remind me of -- though some people bring up entirely different images in mind -- Vigil is Virgil from the Inferno, Roman Toga and all. Probably for no other reason than the similarities in name, and CZG having no vanity about him cant be a rock star, so here it is:

Metlslime: Maynard
Scampie: Ginger Baker (The penultimate red headed step child)
Blitz: Robert Smith
Kinn: Joey Strummer
Necros: Geddy Lee
Mr Pump
Errr, Thump. You'd be amazed how many people actually call me 'Virgil' over the net when they see my nick for the first time.

P.S. I found no proper Roman (or poetic) icon, so the pimp hat it'll be.
Icon
I made a CPMA icon, will it do? its sorta vague, I know. <img src="http://www.chimpans.se/cpma.gif"> dunno if html works? otherwise, just go to http://www.chimpans.se/cpma.gif
It Looks Like A Red Dolphin And A Blue Dolphin Procreating.
Well, it does.
CPMA
AKA Quake for those who want to feel 'modern' 'hip' and 'with it'.
Scampie
You haven't played much CPMA, have you? It's not exactly a QW clone of any kind, bunnyhopping and air acceleration do not a QW clone make.
CPMA
Is certainly not a QW clone, but they did kind of copy stuff.

Lots of stuff.

So did q3 :D
Jago
Right, they left all the shitty parts of Q3 in.
