Poison though it is, I do have two bottles in the freezer - one normal, and one grapefruit flavoured. The latter being quite nice mixed with some fizzy water.

Vodka is the only liquor that gives me a hang over, so I tend to stay away from it. Ever Clear or White Lightening (about the same effect as Absinthe) are my poisons of choice.

don't get me started... tasty stuff but you forget how much booze is in there. Every week or so we have a night where White Russians are all we drink. Last time my neighbour found me trying to open my door with the plastic fork from a chinese takeaway. 

as for what vodka is the best, i don't know how you can have discerning taste about the flavour and so forth, it tastes like shit. It all does, but if you get more expensive stuff like Smirnoff Blue you don't get so much of a headache i guess. 

I too try to stick to either Blue label or Grey Goose if I'm drinking vodka. Avoid pre-mixed Long Island Ice Teas, full of cheap liquors that can make your eyes get twitchy.

I sometimes get a penchant for cheap malt liquors like Colt 45 or cheap wines like Boone's Farm or Ripple. Those can produce interesting conditions.
