some of the talk about 'emergent behaviour' sounds too outlandish to be true.
I was reading this article a moment ago--
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/stalker/news.html?sid=6162089&page=1
and how it describes emergant behavior gave me a funny feeling as well.
I know calling a game
scripted is intended as an negative criticism, but I am much happier with well scripted and well paced events in game (like HL2) than I am with games similar to what is described here. Random is not that interesting.
It will likely feel as contrived as Dungeon Hack which randomly generates dungeons but is essentialy the same mind numbingly simple game everytime when you get under the surface of it. But I hope that I am wrong.
Speeds, I thought the bioshock art was quite an eye sore too, and the big daddies and little sisters described in every review have turned into an annoyance even before the game has come out. However, I'm still looking forward to it, like Necros, just because of the people involved in creating it.
