The other day, I was feeling rather peckish and quite fancied some BEEF. So I went to a good butchers and bought 3/4 a pound of BEEF mince. And then I went home and made that into one large BEEFburger. 6" wide, 1 1/2" deep, served on a huge bap with lots of cheese, mustard, rocket and spinach. Yum. It was huge. That 3/4 pound BEEFburger was big, delicious, and contained a lot of BEEF...
...but not nearly as much fucking BEEF as this func_discussion. Jeeeeeeezusssss...

Have you got both CMR2005 demos installed? I have the single player installed, but the MP demo refuses to install, I get one of those Microsoft, bla bla .exe has caused ......................and must close etc, warnings. So I thought you may not be able to have them both installed at the same time?
GTR, can't seem to get rid of the 'pit rev limiter'? and therefore I cannot rev very high, am going to look into it, and install my wheel, hopefully I will get it sorted.

Got GTR sorted, and it's excellent, if they don't stuff it up, and the AI is good, it will be awesome. However I must disagree with turning on traction control. I think simulation with no aids just rocks. The sound is very good, the feel, physics seem good, it looks great. I love it, thanks for the heads up.

I have Colin 2005 single AND multi demos installed just fine. I would maybe try redownloading it. Yeah, the RPM limiter in GTR is tits when you turn it off! :D
Shambler - you call it beefburger over there? I always thought hamburger was odd when it's not ham... and you call the buns baps? That's funny. Baps. BAPS! B A P S!

If you take Tyler as a metaphor for Facism, then what Tyler did was help out Narrator. Narrator was having issues he could not resolve by himself, and had to have the assistance of other parties to temporarily fix his problems for him. When that couldn't happen anymore, Tyler showed up.
Throughout the entire movie (yes, this is based solely on the movie, I never read the book) you see Narrator adopt more and more characteristics of Tyler, and ultimately become more self-sufficient and organized, as Tyler himself becomes more and more dominant it seems, taking actions without Narrator's consent and keeping him in the dark about what's going on.
This leads to the "overthrow" of Tyler, as Narrator, by the end of the movie, is sufficient enough to take care of himself without the need of someone telling him what to do.
There are a couple things about this I think promote Facism:
1. Narrator, under Tyler's influence, becomes organized, confident, and adopts many of Tyler's personality traits.
2. Through Narrator, Tyler is able to set up a huge regime that is efficient and disciplined. Claiming they are enlightened, they proceed to systematically eliminate that which they believe would ultimately be the fall of man. They are all equal, yes, but they're really all just slaves to Tyler.
However, the more I think about it, the more it seems to be NOT promoting Facism, but instead just showing the course Facism takes;
Although I can't truly comment on that, because I haven't learned too much about any country that adopted Facism and what happened with the regime in control.
But my point is, Tyler represents Facism and ultra-conservatism and NOT anarchism, because of the fact that Project Mayhem's system was built up on treating people as slaves. They are equal, yes, but they have no opinion or free will it seems.

But that's no news, just abuse.

It amuses me that there was more discussion about the posting of a news item in GA than there was about the actual news item. Also, following this there are several posts discussing Fight Club (a film,) when there is a film thread especially for discussing films.
WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO? KEEP THIS SHIT ABOUT MOVIES IN THE FILM THREAD!!!
Not that I really care. I just don't read what I'm not interested in. It's not as if text is really taking up all the bandwidth here at work.
