Half Life 2
Half-Life 2 pre-loading begins to Steam account holders today. Over the coming days, those who have selected the pre-loading option will have encrypted Half-Life 2 files delivered to their PC. No purchase is required to pre-load HL2, but is required to activate the game. Purchase options will be released soon. Then, the moment the game is made available, those who have pre-loaded and purchased Half-Life 2 via Steam will be authenticated and ready to start playing. For more information, please visit www.steampowered.com.
Valve have confirmed that the Half-Life 2 content is currently being loaded onto the GameArena content servers, so it should be available in the near future.

For those that are unsure, the pre-loading process basically allows you to download a significant proportion of the game content. However, you will be unable to actually play the game until it is released. Once the game is released, you can purchase the game online through Steam. If you have pre-loaded it, you should be able to play the game much sooner, after it is officially made available as you will already have a large amount of the content stored locally.

I am not sure now whether or not you need to be logged in to see the news on the above link, but if you do, I guess you won't see it :( It's on my ISP's games web page

So I guess HL2 must be getting closeish. Not that I really care, I have no interest in Half Life what so ever, but maybe some of you have
Something Of Interest, Maybe?

About Avatars
Only good way to implement them here is so that you can't pick your own avatar. You can pick avatar for anyone else tho. Makes for interesting times!
Funny In A Not Ever Gonna Happen Kinda Way...
Thank you kell. Pleas tip your wait-person. And ignore all those bee's. (err, except that one by your leg).
Fric
Now that is an interesting idea. Just a little 15x15 avatar to go beside the post icon.
Haha I Like It Fric

Cross-post: Mapping Article In Architecture Magazine
Hey, maybe you're not all talentless brush molestors after all!

I've posted this to happily announce that *Architecture* magazine recently published my article, Mapping the Futurea piece about architecture in computer and video gamesfor the magazines August 2004 issue.

Wow
that's actually kinda cool; significant in an understated way.
Architecture/mapping
I remember reading some article about architecture in one of the major newspapers here (sweden) some time ago (probably at least a year) that talked very positively about computer and video game architecture.
Hevostallit
That dude tried to interview me, but he had so odd questions I didn't answer.
Re: Hevostallit
Ooohhh. So that's who that guy is.
Oh, That Guy
He pestered me by email for a while too (like a year), but he seemed so wierd I just stopped writing back. Looks like his article didn't really wind up in the New York Times like he promised either.

Produce Justice,
Lou Narren
Hevostallit??
that's the bastard that's been taking pictures of my sister!
GMail
If there's anyone who still doesn't have a gmail invite I'll be giving them away to the next six callers who can tell me who the the original singer of Pink Floyd was.

Hello, you're caller number one.
