Talk about anything in here. If you've got something newsworthy, please submit it as news. If it seems borderline, submit it anyway and a mod will either approve it or move the post back to this thread.

I think every time you load the main page it plays a Metallica MIDI and has a link to every user's Livejournal.

How about ad's? Great big ones that use flash that covers half the page and can't be closed. And one of those cute java things that follow your mouse around. You could make it a swarm of bee's.
A Real Question
Anyone tried/use the downloadable 64bit windows xp? I'm wondering how it runs and/or how buggy/useable it is, as I just got some new athlon64 stuff setup today.

You guys should be discussing mapping, not mapping message boards.

And The Text At The Bottom

scrolls at the bottom of the browser, but at random speeds and sputterings so it will always distract and punish your eye as you are trying to read.

Half Life 2
#5195 posted by VoreLord on 2004/08/27 01:56:31
Half-Life 2 pre-loading begins to Steam account holders today. Over the coming days, those who have selected the pre-loading option will have encrypted Half-Life 2 files delivered to their PC. No purchase is required to pre-load HL2, but is required to activate the game. Purchase options will be released soon. Then, the moment the game is made available, those who have pre-loaded and purchased Half-Life 2 via Steam will be authenticated and ready to start playing. For more information, please visit www.steampowered.com.
Valve have confirmed that the Half-Life 2 content is currently being loaded onto the GameArena content servers, so it should be available in the near future.
For those that are unsure, the pre-loading process basically allows you to download a significant proportion of the game content. However, you will be unable to actually play the game until it is released. Once the game is released, you can purchase the game online through Steam. If you have pre-loaded it, you should be able to play the game much sooner, after it is officially made available as you will already have a large amount of the content stored locally.

I am not sure now whether or not you need to be logged in to see the news on the above link, but if you do, I guess you won't see it :( It's on my ISP's games web page
So I guess HL2 must be getting closeish. Not that I really care, I have no interest in Half Life what so ever, but maybe some of you have

About Avatars
#5198 posted by Friction on 2004/08/27 05:21:38
Only good way to implement them here is so that you can't pick your own avatar. You can pick avatar for anyone else tho. Makes for interesting times!
