If you are a recent convert to Firefox and think thank Firefox loses to IE in speed, I suggest you try these builds which are optimised for speed and different CPUs:

whoever greenlighted the use of the diablo-font in that ad should be taken out back and beaten to death, with a shovel.

apparently, all the content is generated procedurally on startup. pretty cool.
as for diablo font... i don't know why it is used so much. it's not like it's that good or anything. plus the 't's just look stupid.

Unless I'm mistaken, outdoors are handled just like id's previous engines, i.e. it's only a matter of polycount - there's no fundamental difference in the rendering of large areas vs. small, detailed areas.

Daggerfall GFX Update?

I thought I read quite awhile ago about a community redoing the Daggerfall graphics, but I can't find anything about it! (And yeah, I mean Daggerfall, not Morrowind, though I read that was updated too...)

Wait, wait, wait. Hold the phone.
You're saying a bunch of unknowns from the daggerfall community (?!) are refashioning a mediocre game that was released a hijillion years ago with new graphics?
Why, I can hardly wait!

See Ya
In two days, I'm moving house. And at the moment, that means that access to internet is going to be problematic.
Apparently the house has no cable connection; it's too far away from an exchange for DSL, and no wireless broadband services exist here. So goodbye on-demand internet.
Depending on what Saturn technicians say, we may keep the connection, or just declare "stuff it" and go back to dialup (argh.) I've no idea how long it'll take to work this problem out, but anyway it means I may be incommunicado for a few days... or weeks.
Oh well. I've still got a day or so to blather at you if I wish, and plenty of Q3 maps and Q1 and Unreal mods, but I thought you guys should know that I won't be around for a while.
Good Luck Fatty!
