although the magicka regen thing is annoying, the sign is a very powerful one.

you get default 50% spell absorption which is insanely good not to mention you get a big magicka bonus with the 2xINT modifier.

besides, you can just summon an ancestral ghost to regain you magicka. attack the ghost, and it will retaliate via magicka, and you'll absorb some of it. little clunkier, but worth it in the long run. 

on the Atronach sign. I just hated not being able to regen magic when I rested, and the Ancestral Ghost workaround seemed cheesy.

Re: choosing Acrobatics/Athletics as skills, I almost always choose them as minor skills, and sometimes major (I'm not real crazy about the default movement speed either). Advancing quickly is not really a bad thing, and you can always put your points where you wish, instead of lumping them all into Strength or Speed. (Yeah, I know, you won't get the big modifiers if you do that, but you're going to be godlike by the time you're 30th level regardless, so it doesn't really matter.)

If you want a semi-spoiler, there's a woman on the road to Caldera (I think) who will reward you with a magical speed enhancement (of sorts) when you do whateverthehell she wants you to do. It's a slightly mixed blessing, but kickass overall . . . <--Intentionally vague. 

well, that was only what was suggested to me and what i read somewhere.

you could also invest points into alchemy and brew your own potions. personally, i think alchemy is a very cool and useful skill to take. it's just hard to start off, but once you do, you can do neat tricks like brew an intelligence modifier potion, then start brew more and more, get your int super high (because INT is a major part of potion brewing), then start churning out crazy +50 str for 2min potions. :D plus you can sell them for big money. 

If you keep doing +INT potions, and brewing more while they're in effect, you can eventually end up with stuff like +500 intelligence for 100K seconds. It can be kinda game breaking. But I agree, Alchemy is cool. 

I just downloaded it from Rockstar... I've played it before, but the problem I have is that with the framerate limiter on, performance is stuttered. With it off, it's way too fast. There's no compromise =\

The first Fields of the Nephilim song I heard was a live version of Senseless/The Comeback that I downloaded from www.nefilim.de

Now, I have some of their albums and etc, but I lost that song and obviously I can't get it again since it is offered as a rare download, and the downloads on nefilim.de (nice site besides this problem) have been "down due to a server change" for a damn long time.

Do you have this particular version and if so would you mind zipping it and emailing it to me?

As Kinn said, the hdd probably died or at least has errors. The system does boot, but it goes down after a few minutes. We have been able to copy all data from the machine, and we hope it's all intact. It will be reinstalled till next week I guess, but we don't know if the hdd is really severly damaged or not. If it is, it will take a while to have it replaced. 

I cannot for the life of me get on irc/gamesurge. Is it down? I can connect to other networks, so its not this lame hotel interweb. Gamesurge.net seems to resolve to its webhost's IP. Eh? 

I haven't been able to get on all evening/night either. something it fooked...

Considering probably 2% of func_qmap users would have that game, Phait, I'd reckon it'd be more appropriate to post it in GA when you finish it.

It'll be finished.. it's much easier since theres no architectural designing to do so I can't get caught up in perfectionism, just need to coordinate a fun mission.
