but you do realise they have kjdm13 on their site?

Yes

I do realize that, and I refuse to download a .bsp without the author's .txt as well. At best, it's an insult to the mapper, and at worst it's a violation of the license agreement.

Have you checked http://ftp.sunet.se/pub/pc/games/idgames2/planetquake ? At least kjdm13 seems to be there under subdir killjoy.

Thanks. It takes about 30 seconds for the site to reply, but I did manage to get the file. Also, Vondur sent me kik_3.zip, and he helped me find misdm10, so I'm set for now.

I've been told that each config can only hold 50 maps, and the current list is 72, so it looks like I'll be splitting the list into two and swapping out the configs at random intervals. I'd like to have at least 40 on each list, which means I need another 8+ maps. I may end up just adding some additional maps from authors I already have (Frib, qurneL, etc), but I'd like to stay as diverse as possible. Translation: I'm still taking map ideas! Thanks to all, and keep them coming.
Heh
I agree its a little shady to have only the .bsp files for download, if for no other reason than the original .zip compressed them. However if someone doesnt have a map and gets it from your server, how is that any different?

I cant check here but I'm pretty sure balcc is bugged and definatly shouldn't be played on a server =) has some floating brushes that get in the way and all if I remember correctly...
I haven't read all the other suggestions, but p3a and powder keg are missing in ur list imho ;)

Ray:
It's different for me because downloading from a server is simply for convenience's sack and you can't include the .txt in that situation, whereas on a website you are intentionally distributing the .bsp without the .txt, even though you have a choice. Furthermore, a .zip with .bsp and .txt would be smaller than just the .bsp.
Bal:
p3a has been added. I kinda thought pkeg had been played a lot already, which is why I didn't include it. I might toss it in as a filler though.
Oh, and BTW Bal, you still owe me a 1v1 match on strafin6. :)

uhm, yeah... soon or something ;)
Well
I understand what you mean, I'm saying its getting hard to avoid that, with original .zips being harder to find. And yes, I'm fully aware of the concept of compression.

But giving up entirely doesn't help the situation.

It was your 'faggot techno' comment that pissed me off.
I realized that from the beginning, (I'm a "red necked prick" remember, not an idiot,....well) but I just wanted you to come forth with the truth instead of hiding behind that "pedaling ancient links"crap. And actually it was "techno fagot", not "faggot techno", but I'll let that slide. It's just a term that we use, it is not meant to have any connotations towards anything, just like people may say, "that games gay", I'm sure you realize they are not meaning that the game in question, nor its users are having improper sexual activities, it's just a term, an unfortunate one perhaps, but that's all it is.
So now I feel free to apologize to you for the upset that my careless use of language caused you, and for my retort to your ensuing abuse. I will now cease my cheap shots, which were only attempts to draw you out, nothing more. I hold no ill towards you, and am sure you are asset ;)to the human race.
Good Day to you Sir!
