when you say "q2 rotating brushes" do you mean that the collision detection on the rotating brushes actually works properly?
also, why am i seeing q2 monsters in e1m1?

Hey VoreLord, would you mind posting your results and conclusion from when you test those bots? I'm interested in which is best, and might download it for some Q2 fun.

QW Server

Okay I'm planning to setup a QW server; it probably won't be up a whole lot, and ping will be bad, but I want to put up a bunch of maps that don't get played often yet are still worth playing at least a few times. I'm quite open to suggestions, hence this post. So your thoughts?
Current maps I'm thinking of including are:
trw, balscy, balcc, baldm8, agent, carddm2, auhdm1, auhdm2, imp1dm6, filthy, lilith, jrdm1, jrdm2, pinion1, pinion2, pinion3, pbrdm2, oma, reinc1, reinc2, reinc3, reinc4, reinc5, rewired1, rf, rtz, sthdm3, strafin3, strafin5, strafin6, yog1dm1, zed, zed2, lacrima, ztndm6, gmdm1, geodm1, nindm3v2, unddm2, xntrick, edc, e1m2ish, tridm1, tridm2, tridm3
There is space for about 6 more maps. Also, if you think any maps listed should not be included--I've only played two of the reinc maps, so I dunno how the others play--lemme know why and I'll remove them. Remember: infrequently played, but fairly high quality maps are prefered. Don't be afraid to p1mp your own maps, too.
P.S. If there are a lot of good map suggestions, I can create a second maps.cfg and switch between the two when needed.

I'd like to get a nice mix of 1v1, 2v2, and FFA maps. (Aren't pretty much all maps good for FFA?) So if you have particular suggestions for some of those modes, be sure to mention those, too.
Excellent Stuff

trying hard to think of maps and failing :).
I don't really like the reinc series, so if you lost some of those i wouldnt be complaining.
I'd like to play on some gomjabbar maps, my favourite being gomdm4... also the new one gomdm6. Also... aggressr by Tyrann and Swk by Malelova.
Don't know how much any of those get played though
Ah Yeah

Another thing I forgot to mention: I'm interested in putting up some MisYu and qurneL maps. Both authors generally have pretty high standards, but what are a few of their maps I could use?
Starbuck: thanks. I'll add gomdm4, gomdm6, and swk. I felt that aggressr was on a lot of servers already, which is why it's not included; however, inertia now tells me it's not, so I'll look into that.

There really is no contest when it comes to Q2 bots. The 3zb2s play a great game of DM in most maps. They do tend to end up in the lower levels of maps alot of Z-Axis.

Q2K4 And Correct Brush Collision Detection
#4610 posted by frag.machine on 2004/06/29 00:04:05
Necros: that's correct, it's just Q2 code buried inside the original Q1 source, I applied a QuakeSrc.org tutorial (like almost everything in Q2K4 so far) to enable it. And the Q2 gunner is there just to demonstrate the MD2 support.
VoreLord: thanks for the support :D
Starbuck: I just checked the page and it's there, but I really considering to host my site into a more stable place. Any suggestions of good and free hosts ?

The point of the server is to have uncommon maps on it. You can go anywhere and play those maps.

Aside from CTF with the 3zb2s I have found that routes make very little difference in their play.
I am sure that a meticulously constructed .chn could/would produce some added bonus. That said, I have never needed to make one for my own satisfaction. I test all of my new maps with them and am constantly amazed by the "coverage" of entire maps.
-They play space/void/lava/slime maps with minimal suicides.
-They funtion well with Jump pads.
-They do some pretty cool trick jumping while they play... makes me rather envious =)
Like I stated the only real issue I have found is that they seem to fight downwards and seldom fight up the Z.
