#3767 => people might want to tag along to make an episode of minimaps. Nothing really happened with that though
although that thought really happened to me!
But then the nitwits come, and tell that the texmess isn't ID standards, while I blame the Orges for that.

Ambient Sounds
#3802 posted by xen on 2004/03/18 17:28:24
Anyone know of any ambient sound packs lying around? Things like rain, wind, thunder, weird hellish noises etc for use in maps? I remember seeing a bunch of ones a while back on a q3 site but damned if I can remember the url... could really use em.

Thanks for the suggestion... but not even 200 results under the 'sounds' search paramater in the editing forum yielded anything useful :-(
My eyes are also kinda sore from googling... bleurgh

I was hoping to have fun with that for a bit before it occured to someone to look at the ip. I put 2 megs of postings in a text file, grepped out lines starting with #, and used a Dissociated Press alg on it. http://wombat.doc.ic.ac.uk/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?Dissociated+Press
The results are quite a bit more coherent than random. Maybe I should have posted through the uni.

For those who missed my random posting in #tf recently about me trying out EVE, I can give out free 3 day trials. If anyone is interested in it, drop me an e-mail and I'll send you the invite e-mail. It's a really deep mmorpg set in space. Quality graphics, great market, good teamplay stuff. Anyways, you can check out all that stuff at htt://www.eve-online.com and see if it intrests you. I figured I paid 20 bucks to get a month, and I've loved it, was curiuos to see who else would enjoy it.

Chrome demo.
Just tried that in a moment of boredom. Basically, an Unreal2 version of Deus Ex. I.e. Pretty, decent graphics, functional, everything works. But ultimately, derivative, bland, and purposeless.
