i had that problem, it means it doesnt like your video card. Try the different exe's to see which one suits best (there should be nehahra.exe, neh.exe and darkplaces.exe)

It would've been funny had it been metlslime. 

That was the stupidest thing I've ever seen. It was also fun. There were moments when it brought my system to its knees, which is no small feat considering how old the game is and how brank spanking new the computer is.
