Inspiration & Reference
I just wanted to know if people had any links to good websites for either level design inspiration (photos, paintings, concept art, etc.) or just for architectural reference. We had a thread like this on the old qmap, but we know how much good that does us.

It has one eye and you can shave it.

Y'know
@FifthElephant regarding this style: I'd love to see some escher-esque mapjam or something. Bizzare, yet functional geometry. Perhaps the obj2map will help mappers on this front.
Thought This Was Neat

Cool
I prefer the reeling in body parts mechanic - it's a lot more The Thing than the final enemy design, which was basically 'shoot the glowy bit'.

it was only some enemies that had glowy bits, though. There were a lot of standard enemies that just had non-glowy normal limbs that you could cut off.
True
And applying rope / spring physics to all the enemies would be pretty tough to get right.

My favourite enemy was the one that you could cut into bits, and then each bit would attack you independently. And I think be able to rejoin the main body if left alone as well.
