Inspiration & Reference
I just wanted to know if people had any links to good websites for either level design inspiration (photos, paintings, concept art, etc.) or just for architectural reference. We had a thread like this on the old qmap, but we know how much good that does us.

Water On Mars

Nice. I think I'm prepared anyway. The trick is to duck to avoid the tentacle arm attack, then spank him with the shotgun whilst crouching. Everything else is easy.
Yep
we trained a long time for this..
Another Burg Eltz One
Amazing
Germany knows their castle building shit!
Quake Monster Inspiration (repost?)
Zwiffle
what I like best about those is that the monsters only seem dangerous.

Sure there are a few where the person looks like they are going to be eaten. But we don't *know* that they are dangerous.

somebody please make a map of all of those.
I Love The Orient Style Ones
I would love to see a quake map that incorporates that oriental architecture style.
Oh This Is Nice
The Subject Matter Is Good
except the perspective is all warped. It looks like a photo that has been taken with a fisheye lens and then cropped.

First, floating mosques were my attempt to deal with what is a rather obnoxious clich in games which is floating castles. Every game has a floating castle. You know, I really hate that!
Allahu Akbar.
That dude needs to play jams 2 & 5 stat.
Monsters That I Think Are Somewhat Quakey

I like the last one. I don't think they feel too quakey.
Nice
I'd say they're more Drake than Quake - but that's cool as well.
Would Definitely Play
a dark souls style game with these anthro knights -
