it does look as if floyd is stumbling home after a night of vicious drunken rape sex at a frat house. I keep watching that gif hoping any moment now its going to cut to a frame of him throwing up. ...It also wouldn't surprise me if madfox included it

My web site maps section is updated in order to give credits to the original mod author... Is it enough or not ??
Yes
#7262 posted by Vondur on 2005/02/25 01:32:33
that's ok, but links to the author's pages would be nice too (if they exist afterall)
Vondur
#7263 posted by JPL on 2005/02/25 01:36:51
The related links can be easily found in the different readme files... (I zipped the full content of the directory, including original readme files, licence info, etc.. etc.. etc...) but while I have this tool/mods from now many years (from 1996-97 exactly...) I'm not sure the web sites are still avalaible.. Anyway, I will check this and see if they still exist...
BTW, is there any troubleshooting when installing and then using the tools (I particularly think about PatMan..) ?? Let me know if you find problems ;)

Yeah, that's an improvement I guess. Also, what Vondur said.
Also, you should add some screenshots, and maybe some interesting bits of trivia, eg. did you know that Steven Polge (Reaper Bot author) was hired by Epic to do the AI for Unreal? That's probably also why development on the Reaper Bot was abandoned at an early stage.
To really lift the page, maybe you could compose some "Killer Quake"-themed poetry. That would be sweet :D

I unzipped at office all the stuff, I read the text files, check the website when avalaible, but either they are redirected to a non quake page (which is not helpfull), either they don't work anymore... so I will let the stuff like it looks like now ;P...
I didn't know Steven Polge was now involved in Epic Unreal game... great for him... cause Unreal is really good IMHO... (I was playing a lot Unreal Tournament with friend of mine in 2002...)
Concerning "Killer Quake"-themed poetry, I think my english is not enough good to try this kind of "exercice" ... (I'm talking about a kind of "satanic verses" here... o_O ...)
BTW, try the Killer pack, try all the weapons, all features, and let me know what you think about it ;) I think the best way to know what is there in the pack is to try it... and it is really good !
Killer Pack

I tried that ages ago like in 1997 and liked it for a bit of fun, it was probably the best overkill weapon mod at the time. But it was all good for an all out frenzy, not for serious quake playing.

Yes, I agree, that's why we played it in multiplayer mode in DM contest.... he he he...
I think it can be really funny to use it in very hard maps (like Marcher for example...8/ )...
BTW, I think proximity mine launcher and rapid fireball launcher are so far the best weapons in this pack, isn't it ??
Eh?
#7268 posted by Kinn on 2005/02/25 03:46:05
Yeah I can imagine extracting the Marcher .bsp and using it in "Killer Pack" would really improve the gameplay.
Oh hang on a minute, no it wouldn't.
Eh? Part 2
#7269 posted by Kinn on 2005/02/25 03:46:46
and did you just confuse me with nitin?
Oooppsss..
#7270 posted by JPL on 2005/02/25 03:52:20
Yes in my previous reply ... Sorry for this stupid mistake... shame on me.... please mercy .... 8P
Anyway, it would be a great idea to create a new release of Marcher Fortress using Killer Pack with its weapons add-on... I easily imagine a brand new Marcher Killer Fortress Pack for an incredible final massacre !!! Yeah !! It sounds good !!!

killer pack was fun to dick around but only with bots, I'm with kinn that it should never be used for sp playing, it would ruin everything the mapper's prepared gameplay wise.

IMHO, the only weapons that will break gameplay are the Morning Star Axe, guided rockets, guided nuke, and the timed nuke.. This 3 weapons allow you to reach some area, or to kill monsters without having any fun fight...
So I really think not all the weapons have to be re-used, but as far as possible the one which allow the player have better power against monsters... Those one which allow the player to "cheat" during his progression through the map have to be removed...
And I'm really sorry to made this stupid confusion between you guys... I hope you will forgive me ... please ??
