not sure where to post this... we don't really have a general tech help thread.

basically, i'm wondering how i can get my monitor to use it's higher refresh rates when i play games.

in windows, i can manually specify what rates i want to use, and that's fine, but when i load up games, like say, Glquake, even in 640x480 where my monitor is able to do 160hz, i'm running in 60hz. (i can check by looking at the OSD, plus i can see it flickering which it doesn't do at 75hz +)
my desktop is set at 75hz (1280x1024) so it's not a problem with defaulting to the desktop's rate...

i've got the monitor drivers installed... anything else i need to do? (yes, directx is updated.)

the next fitzquake will let you set refreshrate with a cvar (fullscreen only.)

u can set refreshrates in drivers if u use latest from nvidia or ati, look carefully in display properties...

So that's how things go... I can't map or even have a permanent access to the Net as I used to do (I'm wasting my money in the internet cafe now)
