Is double post due to Parkinson sick or abusive drink of Vodka ?? It seems to be your favourite drink isn't it ??
... The DVD presented a real demo of Halo 2 in its different modes (DM, CTF, SP, etc..), and it was a real gameplay, with a real player, a real X-Box console, and so, it was a real video I've seen... And IMHO, it was really good compared to first Halo (more weapons possibilities, more gameplay, etc..), and sure the game will be very good when released...
The house move started four hours early (that's when the movers arrived - 8am - we were only just getting up - dammit!), we're still unpacking and sorting out our crap, and the phone connection still hasn't been worked out. Gleetings from uni.
When I get the time over the weekend, I'll busy myself with Bookshelf mapping and Arcane coding for Quake, and practicing UnrealEd for a starter project I have in mind which could offer good pickings for SP, Assault, Domination and CTF. Seems to be v2 of the one released ages ago but judging from playing the first leevl alone, it's much much better. Quite impressive so far. When people start playing this game, can you please set up a seperate thread to discuss it in depth.
This is because I, amongst many other people, probably won't be playing it for a while, and we don't really want to see loads of opinions, information, spoilers, etc etc before we get a chance to play it. I'd prefer it if the GA thread was kept clear of D3 discussion, thanks. Sham brings up a good point. Even for those of us who get it the day it ships, it would be nice to keep the Doom discussion away from the GA thread as not to ruin our experience.
It turns out that the entire Doom universe is actually a computer-generated ILLSION, and that its only been created so that machines can use people as energy sources (wtf!!!). Then, a whole load of dumbasses think the concept is ingenius and original, and Carmack does tons of interviews praising his own original genius and integrity!!!
The doom guy has actually been dead for a year, he was killed when the ORIGINAL EXPERIMENT WENT WRONG! He's actually a zombie! But he doesn't know it! But then after a year, he meets this kid demon (since there are only demons on mars now), who informs him that he is a dead zombie, and that every time he saw the colour red for the last year, that symbolized that he was a zombie. Then, id makes 3 more movies, AHEM I mean games, with the same formula: "clever" underlying plot, twist at the end that reveals this cleverness, and looooooooooaaaaads of "atmosphere," being exceeded in quantity only by pretentiousness.
When you complete the game, the end credits inform you that actually 'Doom 3' doesn't exist and that you've actually just played though Duke Nukem Forever.
a month or so back on Aintitcool.com on The Village. Supposedly, the men of the forest were construction workers. Seems implausable, but if it is so -- man, that is the lamest shit I have ever heard.
Add to the list of people who deserve to be rectally ravaged with a motorised garden implement, the guy who designed that flash-only doom3.com site. Fullscreen, so I have to alt-tab between windows? Cheers for that.
Oh, and if that music sample from the site is in any way indicative of the in-game music, prepare for more hot weedeater-on-ass action. #1: Why exactly are you not viewing the websites in fullscreen anyway?
#2: Why exactly are you not using a tabbed browser?
