i wanted to say: that guy shoots forest well, which i seldom see. But then, I scroll through the pictures, and yeah, EVERY forest shot has fog in it. probably serves to prove that you cannot do forest without atmo tricks.

You'll want to cock around with the colours/brightness/contrast as they will be too washed-out for quake as-is.

oh yeah, i remember those from like 10 years ago. I love the hand-painted style. They'd probably lose all their character at quake resolution, but if you packaged them as high-res replacements i think they'd work well.
Decreasing the brightness a bit and increasing the contrast and I am sure you can get it looking fine.
