That and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky which were the first games that forced me to use Steam. Was terrible back then, but I prefer Steam at the present.

I refused to buy HL2 when it came out because of the Steam requirement, and I avoided Steam for a long time. I guess eventually there was something I really wanted to play that was Steam only and made an account. That was sometime before 2010 I think, I don't remember for sure. I finally did buy HL2 but I got it on sale for cheap. I've never bought anything there at full price. The most I've ever paid on Steam was $24 for Tomb Raider 2013.

My steam login name is "steamcansuckmyarse" which I guess reflects how I felt about it when it first appeared. That was before shit like Origin so I kinda feel happy with steam now ;)
