Inspiration & Reference
I just wanted to know if people had any links to good websites for either level design inspiration (photos, paintings, concept art, etc.) or just for architectural reference. We had a thread like this on the old qmap, but we know how much good that does us.

Scissor Arches
The "angry owls" from the last picture in the previous link are explained here. They are actually called scissor arches. I rather like how they look.

And here a lot more pictures.

So what i did in the library of my jam2 map is called like that. Good to know.

I almost deleted that part because it didn't look right to me. And i still think that. It won't probably be in the complete and finished version.

That first one is a mapjam2 screenshot, right?

#2460
Rule number 1: don't use HDR to try to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

It was a snapshot to begin with; probably someone's holiday snap that will bring them wonderful memories for years to come. Unfortunately, for the casual viewer, it's just another jungle shot with nothing to distinguish it from countless others. It portrays nothing about time, place or circumstance. And over-applying HDR did nothing for it.

(If you want the sky a bit darker, add a graduated filter or a bit of contrast)
