Inspiration & Reference
I just wanted to know if people had any links to good websites for either level design inspiration (photos, paintings, concept art, etc.) or just for architectural reference. We had a thread like this on the old qmap, but we know how much good that does us.

awesome, more game design discussion please! (where did you find these?)
Architecture Of Doom
Doom in the title does not refer to the game. This a blog with the aim "to post [...] architecture that is often seen as bleak/gloomy/forbidding/desolate/unfortunate".

It seems like every US university has its own "Quake2 Skybox Building" on campus somewhere: http://architectureofdoom.tumblr.com/image/85837429148
The Humanities building at UW-Madison and the main library at Northwestern are similarly planar draconian blocks.

Glad you liked them.

About your question: If you are asking where they are placed, well, you can see it if you look at the url. If you are talking about how i got to find these, i have been lurking at those forums for some years, in the case of the Sonic forums i visit them from time to time and sometimes to remind myself of what its going to be shown on SAGExpo each year and in the Sonic Hacking Contests
