Is impressive but only shows lathes/revolves from edge detections, they haven't shown a single example of a non concentric shape, which is a much harder problem to solve.

picture from post 2111 reminded me of the old San Francisco Embarcadero Freeway project that was stopped midway from completion. There was a decade of freeway's to nowhere while it was fought out in the courts. They eventually were demolished and are why you have to use city streets to get to the Golden Gate Bridge.
The freeway was a blight to the waterfront though so I get why it was stopped. The Nimitz collapse alone is a good reason as to why that design is a bad idea and there's only one remaining freeway like it (280 from the 101 split for about a mile) that I know of and every time I drive it I'm always hopeful that no major earthquake happens right then.
Yeah, yeah. I'm a San Francisco native (and old), so sue me.
