It was probably a guy called 'Sandy' who first reported it's existence.

Interesting to see that Oz magazine cover. I bought the Oz magazines from issue one. Their covers were always 'of their time'. I sold the whole collection for a lot of money earlier this year.

Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe is a chapel in Aiguilhe, near Le Puy-en-Velay, France, built in 962 on a volcanic formation 85 metres (279 ft) high"
Wow
That's like something right from the first Unreal.
Wondering if there chapel is just the tip of the iceberg and there are catacombs going miles deep inside the volcano.

If that's not the epitome of "omg sum1 needs 2 map dat", I don't know what is.
Speaking of
quakeable churches in France, I give you
The Black Cathedral (actually it's called Clermont-Ferrand Cathedral)

The reason it looks like some kind of Elder God shrine is because the town of Clermont-Ferrand is surrounded by volcanoes and the entire cathedral is built out of
black lava stone.
