Not to judge whether or not using Columbine in a title is a "good" or "bad" choice of words.
"Bowling for Columbine" = Oscar.

Completely ignoring whatever moral quibbles I may or may not have about this mod in particular, that statement, aside from being grammatically fucked up, is retarded enough that I actually reread it multiple times thinking I had to be misreading it.
It means that since you can't think outside your own boundaries, you haven't got a clue.
Frankly, whatever relative ignorance of art I have has very little to do with my morality.
My statement was letting you know that you were getting the two confused.
I wouldn't consider creating a game level where the player herds Jews into a furnace either, no matter how "artistic" it was, and that was a (relatively) long time ago.
Wow, that might be a fun game. Would you play the Nazis or the Jews? Can you imagine a game where you could micromanage Nazi Germany in WW2? That would be hideous!
But it's still war and war is hell. I think that just for you, and people like you, we'll have a special barrel of bloody fake boobs, from some of the cheerleaders. That will work well in the game I think. We can whip them at cops.

Good luck with your theme, I hope people stick to it and produce some good varied maps within that style....oh wait, it's speedmapping isn't it, okay, make that just varied maps within that style =).
My earlier suggestion was "terrain map with ancient/medieval setting" - thinking stuff like Swamp....n/m
Heh Thanks

GameSpy: As a triple-A company, can id work on any smaller ideas?
John Carmack: I thought it would be kind of neat if we took the DOOM renderer, and we had a team take previous games-don't touch the game, just revamp it graphically. Just take Quake II, and just use the DOOM engine to make brand new graphic models and everything. But don't spend time messing with the gameplay because we know that is pretty good. Just release it as Quake II Remix with brand new graphics technology and sell it at a middle-level price instead of a boutique price.
to highlight - "But don't spend time messing with the gameplay because we know that is pretty good"

I assume building all the content (textures, levels geometry and models) takes most time in the development process now. Thus remaking q2 would be almost as hard and timeconsuming as making a new shooter on d3 engine.
Yeah, Unless Carmack Knows Something We Don't :)
