To Start The Ball Rolling

So we've started a MP server and have decided to build a pub. We've got the ground floor with a fireplace, bar, jukebox(s) and tables and have started on the disco one floor below which has a floor of gold and obsidian.
Next up is a jacuzzi on the roof. Just a shame we're all hopeless nerds - need to convince the girls in the office to buy the game.
Not sure if that'd make it any less geeky mind.

There was a free weekend a while back because the server went down.
I don't see it as any different than buying a game on Steam early.
It's a pretty clever way of doing it as well - open sandbox, see what the players enjoy doing, build the game around that.
Although

I think the level editor version is free to play, but I can't see anyone here having fun with such a radically cut down world editing tool.
Part of the fun is getting fucked over by enemies.

I'm not playing minecraft but from the few videos I've seen I do appreciate the pigs and the square sun!
My Tower Of Despair

It could have been a tower of happiness but I liked the sound of despair.

The black vertical shadow in the middle is an obsidian obelisk and the lava on the right is a pillar of fire about half the height of the tower, and forms a moat around it. Need to continue ripping out all the wood.

Nice, I think it requires more lavafalls to be a proper tower of despair. :)

Good point, it's a bit too friendly really - pictures hung everywhere and so on.

Very recommended - the original textures are pretty shite.
Mm...

Not a huge fan of that pack, the colours are kind of stale, and he replaced the square sun with a circular one, which sucks. =\
Those Textures

are fantastic. Only doubling the resolution is a good call, and the JRPG style fits the game perfectly. The original textures (and even, the game) is conspicuously missing any defined style or theme (unless 'programmer art' counts).
I think the version without flowers is best... with them it looks a bit messy and the tiling is a bit grating.
Meh

I think they are too grey, and I repeat, I really hate that he replaced the sun.
More looking forward to this set :

It's simpler and fits better in my opinion. And it keeps the original resolution (changing the resolution borks some of the textures, like water and lava aren't working in that RPG pack).
