Solid map this is. The only HL2DM map I've played which gives it a run for its money is Rebar, that is an excellent map but only good for maybe 4-8 people, it's quite large you see.
Still, great mappage you funky Polwegishian dancing machine.

i'd like to know why this is your last map for the source engine? anything in particular you didn't like or is it something else?
Nice Map

Cyber Slam (where I'm the Admin) is now running dm_overflow on the 'cyberslam.com.au - DM 2' server (in Australia).
Its lots of fun :]
My guess behind why it did not win - too small, thats all.
It Didn't Win?

Bleh, no justice in the world. Although I haven;t seen other entries, someone of them could pwn.
I do think though, as Tigger hints at, that the HL2 community is only interested in ridiculously oversized maps suitable for slowpaced 32 ppl teamplay where you spend 4 days getting across the map due to the ever-irritating sprint mode...
Why No More Source Mapping

1: I don't really like DM. It's just not fun imho.
2: Single player mapping for hl2 is really restricted because you'd have to tie whatever you make in with the story Valve already have created. They created the world for which you have the assets available for, so whatever you're going to make will be set in that world. Also all mapobjects are funkily scaled and hard to fit into your geometry. Have the Valve modellers never heard about the motherfucking grid?
3: Assets are locked away and utterly uneditable. A major step back compared to all previous engines.
In defense of fascism though, the Hammer editor is pure sex. (Though it could very well have had a "search for model..." feature.)

LIES. Or at the very least there is plenty you can do within the context of "You are Freeman and you are fighting the Combine or Aliens somewhere"...

1: Agreed
2: Yes, you do have to tie in with the character's story, but that doesn't mean that Freeman couldn't get teleported (with the new timelapse story twist) into.... say.... the Quake universe. New monsters would be needed, but thats something i'd like to do.
It sucks to hear about the sh*ty mapobjects scale.
3: Assets are locked away and utterly uneditable??? Now THAT does blow chunks
LOL

oh.. yea.. Maybe let's then make such an attack at HL2 community. Some kinda Quake promotion from fucn_msgboarders.
omg ignore me, I just couldn't let this weird idea stay only in my head after reading this.
Meh?

You could have tried a BIT harder, though.
