Unless many others think this separation is good I see no other reason for this split other than shambler not giving a rats ass about console games and not wanting to rad about them. 

My friend is so aggravating because he's all "hey you me and my bro can play Rainbow Six: Vegas or Gears of War" and I just AAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH at the point that - isn't it obvious cramming 3 people on 1 fucking TV is hopeless, much less 2? TV resolution sucks, you can't see shit - his answer? "Move closer" -- DUDE... agh...

So despite the fact that I hate consoles for numerous reasons, there is one shining light and that may be the Wii. 

this thread is a bad idea. Games are games, and you can't just shovel the overwhelmingly largest sector of the industry into one measly thread just because "lol consoles suck am i rite olol" 

the one thing HDTV will help with is those 4-player splitscreen console game modes, which look like shit on regular TVs. 

Does playing an emulated console game on my PC count as a PC game or a console game? And what about cell phone games? Where does Settlers of Cataan fit in here? Bacarat? Crossword puzzles? Sudoku? Pocket pool? Buzzword bingo? 

only because they cause a division in games, and it means i'd have to buy every console if i wanted to play every game. also ports are evil. 

Since you normally really dig making universal threads that reach across the broadest spectrum of ideas and concepts (e.g. "Best Monsters" thread instead of "Best Quake Monsters" thread), why oh why did you feel the need to segregate PC games and console games?

I played FIFA (ps2) on ym widescreen tv not too long ago and while the ps2 graphics show their age when you have them blown up, the 4 player game is much more satisfying because oyu can actually see what's going on.

I figure it'd be even better for shooter since normally you have a window size the size of a hand.
